Allison Tolman didn’t know the Germanic folklore before signing on. She said, “I heard the title of the film and Googled it, because I was like, ‘That’s not a word!’ It turns out it is a word. I had no idea about Krampus before I signed onto the film.”

A $27 million budget, to be exact. Which was particularly high considering that the film had no special effects "Ghostbusters" (which was made for $30 million). It had no trouble making its budget back; the film’s final gross was $71,319,526.
